Made for the heir apparent, finely worked on the front and back in satin stitch and couched gold threads with nine contorted five-clawed dragons confronting flaming pearls amidst a dense ground of cloud clusters, bats and Buddhist symbols, all above the terrestrial diagram and lishui stripe at the hem, and picked out in shades of blue, green, yellow and red against an orange-yellow ground, collar, sleeve extensions and cuffs missing
