A DATED PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE LUOHAN AND GROTTO CARVING

Carved in high relief with a luohan holding a sutra while seated on a stone bench beside an outcropping of rock which serves as a table to support an incense burner and incense box, all within the irregular opening of a grotto set within a layered rock face, a gilt-highlighted inscription on the reverse is dated to the wu yin year, the reign mark is inscribed in a line on the base along with the characters yin and shiliu, the pale greenish-white stone with opaque buff and brown inclusions
