A SPINACH-GREEN JADE MOON FLASK
18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
The flattened circular body raised on a high foot encircled by a ribbed band and decorated at the base with a diaper pattern, the neck carved in high relief with stylized shou characters on either side and flanked by bird-form handles, each bird perched on the shoulder of the flask with well-defined feathers on the body and impressive trailing plumage, the stone with moss green, black and grayish inclusions and an attractive high polish, apochryphal Qianlong mark on the base; together with a white jade figure of a woman, with legs crossed, seated on a rootwood stool, one elbow propped on a small rootwood table while applying makeup to her brow, the other hand supporting the mirror resting on the table, her hair fastened in a double knot, the stone an even and attractive color with a high polish
