The deep cup with four lobes, each lightly incised and gilded on the exterior with two birds amidst flowering peony below a shallow everted rim and above a spreading foot incised and gilded with a band of petal lappets, the interior incised and gilded with a central medallion of twin fish and peony scrolling on a dense ring-punched ground within a larger ring-punched band, with further incised and gilded petal lappets at the rim; together with a lobed hexafoil silver-gilt bowl, Song dynasty, with deep rounded sides raised on a short spreading pedestal foot, the interior with traces of gilding
