This extraordinary suite of seat furniture was acquired, along with the painted metal trees by the legendary decorator Elsie de Wolfe, Lady Mendl (1865-1950) from the Parisian firm Jansen. She used them to decorate her Villa Trianon in 1938 for her celebrated Circus Ball.
