Manufactured by Cartier, No. 88850, designed by Mitzi Cunliffe
Mitzi Cunliffe began working as a sculptor after receiving her masters of fine arts from Columbia University in New York. Since then her work has been in over 150 exhibitions around the world. Her most famous piece is her design for the prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award, designed in 1956 and still given each year. Combining sculptural elements with architecture, many of her pieces may be seen on buildings in America and Great Britain, including works at Sarah Lawrence College and The University of Liverpool. The same principles she developed in her sculpture and architectural pieces, she later applied to decorative objects including jewelry. Several of her pieces were exhibited in the first International Jewelry Exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum, in London in 1961. Christie's is pleased to offer these unique rings designed by Mitzi Cunliffe and executed by Cartier.
