cf. Bruno Foucart, Normandie: Queen of the Seas, 1985, p. 79 illustrates the entrance for the first-class smoking room of the Normandie which was decorated with a mural, 'La Chasse', of which this panel is a slight variant. Dunand's interpretation of the original work, which was executed on a smaller scale, exemplifies his superb application of the lacquer technique and his fascination with various cultures.
