Beatrix Potter contributed nine drawings (of ten) for a set of verses for "A Frog He Would a-Fishing Go," by C[lifton] B[ingham]. Nisters prepared the tenth drawing themselves for the picture of a frog holding a fishing-rod which had the fishing-line spread across the top of the page, shaped to form the letters of the title. Potter's nine drawings were each signed with her initials "H.B.P." They were inspired by a picture letter she had written the previous year to Eric Moore--a letter about a frog called Mr. Jeremy Fisher and who, in 1906, made his appearance in "The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher."
