I. [Hariot's Virginia]. Admiranda Narratio fida tamen, de commodis et incolarum ritibus Virginiae, 1590. 7 leaves with fore-margins shaved catching a few letters, 3 leaves with engraved images shaved (plate 20 with both fore- and upper edges cropped) marginal wormhole, traversing engraved image of 6 leaves, faint staining to the Pict plates and caption leaves. FIRST EDITION, mostly first issue, with six plates in second issue states, with D6 blank, engraved title within architectural figural border, engraved arms on dedication leaf, double-page map of Virginia, 28 engraved plates including unnumbered Adam and Eve plate and 5 plates of Picts, mostly after John White by Theodor de Bry, letterpress section title to the plates, woodcut initials. Church 140.

II. [Le Moyne's Florida]. Brevis narratio eorum quae in Florida Americae Provincia Gallis acciderunt... Auctore Jacobo le Moyne, 1591 [i.e., 1609]. Repaired tear to lower corner of folding map, short marginal tear at guard. Second edition, engraved title within architectural figural border, engraved dedicatory arms, engraving of Noah offering a sacrifice on )(3r, full-sheet folding engraved map of Florida and Cuba, 42 numbered engraved plates after Jacques Le Moyne, woodcut initials and headpieces. Church 146.

III. Stadius's Brazil]. Americae tertia pars Memorabilem provinciae Brasiliae Historiam continens, germanico primum sermone scriptam a Ioanne Stadio, 1592 [second letterpress title dated 1605]. Folding map supplied. Second edition, mixed first and second issue (see below), engraved title within architectural figural border, 2 letterpress section titles, engraved arms on dedication, full-page engraving with seven armorial shields and figures of the Virtues on following leaf (a3), folding engraved map of South America, 30 engraved plates repeated to 45 impressions, woodcut initials and head- and tail-pieces; with the full-page Adam and Eve plate on p. 144 (same as in part I above), the plate on p. 127 not repeating the plate on p. 125, plate 23 on p. 125, and plates 18 and 19 correctly printed on pp. 78 and 80. IV. [Benzoni's History of the New World]. Americae pars quarta, sive, Insignis & Admiranda Historia de reperta primum Occidentali India à Christophoro Columbo Anno M.CCCCXCII scripta ab Hieronymo Bezono, 1594. Faint stain to map, repaired marginal tear to F5 just entering engraving, repaired marginal wormhole to F2, lacking blank leaf R6 (replaced by a modern leaf). Second edition, engraved title within historiated emblematic border, repeated, engraved plate with 7 coats-of-arms, engraving of Columbus led by the deities, allegorical engraving "Americae retectio" on fol. [4], double-page engraved map of the Caribbean and adjacent areas, 24 numbered engravings, with final blank F6. Church 155.

V. [Benzoni's History, continued]. Americae pars quinta... secundae sectionis Hia [Historiae] Hispanorum. 1595. Map with small tear at fold juncture, repaired 3-inch tear to A4 affecting a letter and engraved image. FIRST EDITION, engraved title within historiated emblematic border, repeated, folding engraved map of Mexico, engraved portrait of Columbus, and 22 numbered engraved plates, with l2, l3 and F4 blank. Church 156 (this copy with l2 correctly signed).

VI. [Benzoni's History, concluded]. Americae pars sexta, sive historiae ab Hieronymo Benzono... scriptae, sectio tertia. 1596. Lacking G6 blank. FIRST EDITION, engraved title within historiated emblematic border, repeated (second title without pasted down "Sequuntur Icones" slip), double-page engraved plan of Cuzco, double-page engraved map of the Western Hemisphere with portraits of Columbus, Vespucci, Magellan and Pizarro. Church 158.

VII. [Schmidel's Brazil and Paraguay]. Americae Pars VII... descriptio praecipuarum quarundam Indiae regionum & insularum. 1599. Lacking F4 blank. First Edition in Latin, engraved title within architectural figural border, engraved illustration on A4r. Church 161.

VIII. [Voyages of Drake, Hawkins, Cavendish and Raleigh]. Americae Pars VIII continens primo, descriptionem trium itinerum... 1599. Guiana map (supplied) with lower edge (about 1/2 in.) and upper edge (about 1/4 in.) defective and restored, affected areas supplied in skilful manuscript facsimile. FIRST EDITION, mixed first and second issues with small oval world map on KK4v (Shirley 220), without the small map on AA2r, with AA2 correctly signed, plates XIII and XIV correctly printed, and with plates VI-IX with engraved numbers on the plates; letterpress title with engraved double hemisphere world map after Jodocus Hondius (Shirley 219), folding engraved map of Guiana, letterpress section title to the plates, 18 engraved plates, with e4 blank. Church 163 and 164. .

IX. [Acosta's History of the New World, De Weert's and Van Noort's voyages]. Americae Nona & postrema pars. Qua de ratione elementorum: de novi orbis natura. 1602. Lacking blank leaf Yy6, 4 leaves with small marginal repairs. First Edition in Latin, engraved title within historiated architectural border, engraved arms on dedication leaf, engraved map of the Straits of Magellan, letterpress section titles to the second and third parts and to each of the two series of plates, part titles with engraved vignettes, the "Additamentum" title with engraved portrait of Van Noort incorporating a world map (Shirley 229), 39 engraved plates numbered I-XXV and I-XIV, with final blank leaf ddd4. Church 168.

Because of the numerous variations between sets of the de Bry Voyages and the consequent difficulty of establishing an ideal collation, this set is sold, as usual, not subject to return.
