Raised on a high ring foot with rounded exterior walls rising to an everted, eight-facet barbed rim, the interior walls moulded in sixteen lobes and the well circular and flat, decorated in enamels of blue, iron-red, yellow and turquoise on the exterior with a pine, flowering plum and bamboo (shochikubai) and on the interior with a medallion of two confronted phoenixes, barbed rim chocolate--7 3/8in. (18.7cm.) diameter
