Each with a laurel-wreathed urn with pinched neck and foliate top above two turned arms each issuing a turned stem, one with maker's label inscribed 'BARCLAY & SON/LAMP MAKERS/138, REGENT STREET/LONDON', with lappeted drip-pan and ring-turned and tapering reservoir, fitted for electricity, backplate and wall support of a later date

There is a closely related pair of standing lamps by Hancock and Rixon of Great Marlborough Street in the collection of the Duke of Devonshire at Chatsworth, Derbyshire. One pair is illustrated in Temple Newsam Country House Studies, Country House Lighting 1660-1890, 1992, p. 87-8, cat. no. 71.
