Lot Essay

Romanelli studied at the Academy in Florence under Luigi Pampaloni and Lorenzo Bartolini. He is known to have worked as a collaborator in Bartolini's atelier until his teacher's death at which time he took over his studio. Romanelli worked on many public commissions in Italy his most famous being the Monument to Vittorio Fossombroni in the Piazza S. Francesco in Arezzo.
