The Flight into Egypt: Crossing a Brook (B., Holl. 55; H. 276; BB. 54-D)
etching and drypoint, 1654, on fine laid paper, without watermark, only state, a very fine, early impression, with the delicate slipped stroke down the left side of the Virgin's face and considerable burr on the banks of the brook just behind the donkey characteristic of the earliest impressions, the plate printed with a delicate tone and retaining the square corners, with margins beyond the crisp, unflattened platemark, two foxmarks in the bottom margin, in fine condition
