Lot Essay

Clump of Trees with a Vista is a work closely related to the effects which Rembrandt also conveyed in his drawings, namely that of a fleeting moment captured and held by the eye. The fluttering of a summer's breeze and strong sunlight are here most effectively depicted, with the vast, blank expanse of composition to the right conveying a sense of openess and light.
