THE EXILED WAGNER READ'S "SIEGFRIED'D DEATH.": Wagner invites Biebensheim and a friend to attend a reading of "'Siegfried's Tod.'" Following the political agitation of 1848, Wagner fled Dresden for Paris, and finally settled in Zurich from 1850 until 1859, where he primarily concentrated on his literary efforts.
