(4½ x 7¾ in.), four-lines and signature written across the face of a manuscript requisition, matted and glazed in a giltwood frame with an engraved half-length portrait of Houston. Unexamined out of frame. A document addressed to the Treasurer of the Committee of Safety and Vigilance of Nacogdoches by L.P. Parker, requesting payment of $26 to Sam Heller, "for gun blankets." President Houston refuses the claim and pens: "[A] private account -- this man was never out in services Sam Houston 28 Apr 38."
