A FIGURAL TWO-HANDLED SILVER-GILT CENTERPIECE, probably Continental, with import marks for William Hutton & Sons, London, 1897, the shell form bowl on oval base chased with vertical reeded bands, supported by the entwined tails of mermaids with garlands in their hair and crossed upstretched arms (one asleep, one awake), also with foliate supports--length over handles 16in., (40.6cm.) 77oz.
