A SIX-PIECE TEA AND COFFEE-SERVICE ON TWO-HANDLED TRAY, all marked STERLING, no. 1835; the cream-jug with Durgin mark and no. 1835A, comprising tea-kettle, stand and lamp, teapot, coffee-pot, two-handled covered sugar-bowl, cream-jug and waste-bowl, each bombé pear-form, on raised shaped oval foot, the body chased with panels of scroll and rocaille, with applied scroll rim, the partly domed covers with conforming decoration and headed by foliate urn finial; with foliate capped scroll handles; the pots with decorated spout, the tea-kettle with overhead swing handle, on bifurcated scroll support--the tea-kettle on stand over handle 14in. (35.5cm.) high; the molded border to the oblong tray chased with conforming decoration, and with applied wavy scroll rim with stylized foliage at the corner, with scroll handles--length of tray over handle 31½in., (80cm.) gross weight 349oz.
