The arched openwork case flanked on either side by half column surmounted by urn linked with chain to central urn finial, the applied arabic chapters and minute numerals above panel of lyres, the shaped oblong base on ball feet, the inverted Y-frame movement with epicycloidal teeth to going and striking trains, tic-tac escapement with thread suspension to wire pendulum, countwheel striking on bell driver by spring wound by motion work (intermediate wheel now removed), French c. 1825--15½in. (39.5cm.) high
