The oblong base raised on gilt feet cast with leafy scrolls and suporting the reclining figure of Cronus above a band of gadrooning and marquetry of strapwork and bellflowers, the tête-de-poupée case with strapwork and flowerheads enclosing the gilt dial finely modelled with figures of flying putti supporting white enamel cartouches with roman chapters, the signed three-train movement with anchor escapement and thread suspension to pendulum, striking the hours and quarters by means of numbered countwheel and subsidiary quarter snail, c. 1700-- 33½in.
