Shen Shi, alias Qingmen Shanren, was a native of Renhe (Hangzhou), Zhejiang province. He was a painter of landscapes, flowers and birds, as well as a collector. By studying directly from the old masterpieces which he collected, he displayed particular talent in following the painting styles of the old masters.
