A YUEYAO CIRCULAR BOX AND COVER
10TH CENTURY

The domed cover crisply and well-carved with a central medallion of a parrot and a large blossom within a double bow-string border surrounded by a band of feathery leaf scroll, the box raised on a slightly flared foot, covered inside and out with a grayish-green glaze continuing over the footrim onto the base, rim of box with pieces missing-- 4 7/8in. (12.4cm.) diam., cloth box
