A GEORGE II TANKARD, maker's mark of Thomas Tearle, London, 1739, chased later, baluster, on molded circular foot, the body and molded raised cover chased and engraved with flowering foliage, scrolls and scalework, the lower part of the body, below applied girdle, with vacant shaped cartouche, the cover also with rocaille band, the round-hinge tubular scroll handle with openwork thumbpiece--8in. (20.3cm.) high, 27.5oz.
