A NAPOLEAN III ORMOLU AND PORCELAIN-MOUNTED TABLE MILIEU

With circular ormolu and leaf-tip moulded top inset centrally with a Sèvres style platter, depicting a painting of a genre scene, signed "D. Hersent", entitled "Louis Seize Distribuant des Aumones, A De Pauvres Paysans", with an ormolu border with leaf-tips inset with plaques depicting ladies of the court above a conforming frieze applied with pierced guilloche over a central baluster support applied with leaf-tips and three S-scrolling supports applied with foliage on a tripartite plinth with casters--30 in. (76 cm.) high, 31 in. (79 cm.) diam.
