A ROMAN GOLD AND GARNET FINGER RING
circa 1st century a.d.
With a plain gold hoop expanding at the shoulders, set with a domed round garnet engraved with a profile head wearing a double mask, both masks in the form of a bearded satyr, one in profile to the left, the other in profile on top of the head; together with a Roman banded agate ringstone, circa 1st century B.C., engraved with the goddess Victoria standing on a globe, her wings ourstretched, holding a torch and a wreath, mounted in a 19th century gold setting (2)
