AN ATTIC RED-FIGURE AMPHORISKOS
circa late 5th century b.c.
One side with a seated draped woman wearing a beaded necklace and armlets in added white, facing her attendant who stands holding a box and a fillet in her right hand, and grasping her chiton in her left, a wreath in added white hanging between them; the other side with a standing draped woman balancing a stick in her right hand, holding a necklace in her left hand, facing a winged Eros holding a bird, a second bird in added white betwween them at their feet, a beaded necklace hanging between them; a palmette complex below each handle, three palmettes on one side of the shoulders, vertical lines on the the other side, with a band of egg on the neck
