LONDON, 1742, MAKER'S MARK OF PAUL DE LAMERIE

Of shaped oval form on four foliate scroll feet headed by putto masks, with dentilation and foliate rocaille between the everted sides pierced with scrolls and panels of crosslets and a band of ovals, all within a ropetwist border with a shell at each end, with leaf applied multi-scroll swing handle, the center engraved with a coat-of-arms within an asymetrical foliate scroll and rocaille cartouche, marked on base -- 15 in. (38.1 cm.) long
