The distinctive tapering column angles and faceted octagonal feet are found on a pair of chiffoniers at Southill Park, Bedfordshire, probably supplied by William Marsh. They are en suite with a commode with the same feet, which was probably designed by Henry Holland, who remodelled the house for Samuel Whitbread I (d. 1796) and completed the interiors for his son Samuel Whitbread II (F. Collard, Regency Furniture, 1985, pp. 40, 42 and 44-45).

Two pairs of straight-sided dwarf cabinets with similar angles and feet have been sold at Christie's London, 25 February 1971, lot 111 and 20 November 1986, lot 130.
