A VICTORIAN PERSIAN STYLE SILVER COVERED BUTTER-DISH, Sheffield, 1890, maker's mark of Jas. Deakin & Sons, deep circular chased in the Persian taste with broad frieze of flowering foliage with serrated edges, between geometric bands, the highly raised detachable cover with similar band, the top with scalloped fluting, headed by acorn finial, with liner, two tab handles, with pierced base--5¼in. (13.3cm.) diam., liner not weighed, 10.5oz.
