A VICTORIAN SILVER HOT-WATER JUG AND A GROUP OF AMERICAN AND ENGLISH SILVER ITEMS, the first London, 1872, maker's mark of Martin & Hall, vase-shaped on acanthus clad circular spreading foot, and similar shoulder, the sides engraved with arcades of arabesques with flowerspray between, acanthus clad scroll handle, the partly domed hinged cover topped by pinecone finial--12½in. (31.7cm.) high; a cigar-box, cedar lined, with engine turned hinged cover--7in. (17.7cm.) long; twelve circular bread-and-butter plates, a boat-shaped, swing handled sweetmeat basket, the matted interior sides with flowering foliage, center with peasant scene--with English import marks--weighable silver 64oz.
