A GEORGE III INKSTAND, Sheffield, 1813-14, maker's mark of John Roberts & Co., the shaped oblong base with applied foliate shell and tongue-and-dart rim, on four lion's paw feet, the ground with two pen depressions centering two tongue-and-dart bordered ink and pounce-pot containers for the cut-glass silver-mounted pots, with urn-shaped central partly fluted sealing-wax container supporting conforming taperstick with chained conical snuffer--10¼in. (26cm.) long, weighable silver 18oz.
