A CONTINENTAL FOUR-PIECE TEA AND COFFEE-SERVICE, marked with Hungarian import mark 1866-1937, probably late 19th Century, comprising teapot, coffee-pot, two-handled covered sugar-bowl and covered cream-pitcher, each inverted pear-shaped, on square pedestal base, the stem acanthus enclosed, the shoulder with band flat-chased and engraved with foliage centering paterae on matted ground, the domed covers topped by cast pine-cone finial on foliate calyx, the hinge at right angles to the ebonized wood loop handle, bird's head join, the pots with griffin's head spout--the coffee-pot 11½in. (29.2cm.) high, gross weight 87.5oz.
