A RUSSIAN ART NOUVEAU SILVER CENTERPIECE, probably Moscow, circa 1900-1917, struck with assaymark and another indeciperhable mark, oval, with detachable glass base, the shoulder of the basketwork sides chased with lilly-of-the-valley spray, with flowing openwork frond rim, front and back applied with lilly pad (one initialled, possibly later), joining the waterlilly (one piston lacking), the undulating interlocking fronds forming the base, one end with female water sprite holding vase of cattails, the other with water-cherub playing lute, amid further musical instruments, each suported by double lilly pad--overall length 23in. (58.4cm.), glass not weighed, 106.5oz.
