A SILVER PART DINNER-SERVICE, maker's mark of Bailey, Banks & Biddle, circa 1917, comprising two serving trays, a circular fruit-bowl, a covered entree-dish, vegetable-dish (not initialled) and partly pierced bread-tray, each initialled, shaped oblong, the border chased with panels of foliate scrolls centering shell, with scalework between, applied foliage and tongue-and-dart rim; the partly raised entree-dish cover with conforming decoration and topped by detachable foliate scroll handle, the reverses engraved with name and date 1917--meat-dishes 18¾in.; 16¾in.; the bowl 10in. diam; the others approximately 11in. long; (47.6cm.; 42.5cm.; 25.4cm. and 27.9cm. respectively), 185oz.
