A SILVER MARTELE STYLE CENTERPIECE BOWL, maker's mark of Reed & Barton, no. 500 A, late 19th Century, shaped oval bombe, the lower part of the body with bellflower and lotus leaf band, the undulating everted rim finely chased and applied with flowerheads centering foliate lyre-form scrolls, foliage issuing leafy tendrils, the two ends with shaped cartouche within scrolls, one engraved with initials, enclosed by two large flowerheads, with applied foliate scroll and shell rim, all on raised and molded shaped oval base chased with conforming decoration--17in.
