A TWO-HANDLED BUTTER-DISH, LINER AND A COVER, the butter-dish maker's mark of Gorham, 1872, no. 301, the liner stamped 301; the cover unmarked, the bombe circular dish on four hoof feet, the rim applied with interlocking foliate scrolls on a matted ground, with two lion's mask and bar handles, the liner pierced with star and paterae; the frosted finish raised cover engraved twice with paterae and twice with foliate sprays above stylized foliate band, topped by bearded billy goat with bell collar--6¼in.
