MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED SATSUMA KEIDA WITH KAKIHAN
The large globular censer set on three curled tripod supports deeply carved overall with interlocking fretwork, all covered with a cream crackle glaze, the reticulated cover with further carved fretwork and molded with three delicate leafy stalks bound with a slender 'cord', the leaves glazed green and the stalks gilt, the rims also gilt, leaf and foot chips, gilt rubbed- 9 3/4 in. (24.8 cm.) high, in fitted wood box inscribed Satsuma yaki chokoku koro Keida "Satsuma carved incense burner by Keida with kakihan and faint seal
