20TH CENTURY, SIGNED TO [ARAKAWA TOYOZO (1894-1985)]
The tall bamboo-form cylinder vase molded with bamboo nodes above the foot covered overall in an olive-green glaze thin in areas and covered by a fine crackle glaze, the interior matching, the base unglazed- 10 3/4 in. (27.3 cm.) high, in fitted wood box inscribed on one side Ki-Seto hito-e-giri hana ire...Akizukiyo Toyozo "a cut-out Ki Seto flower vase by Akizukiyo Toyozo", similarly inscribed on the underside of the lid and signed Konnichi an with kao [Sen Tantansai Soshitsu (1893-1964), tea master]
