The rectangular box and cover inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the four sides and lid with large shaped panels of dragons amongst clouds, the lid panel also with the 'flaming pearl', set on a formal ground of inlaid flower and kikko decoration, the underside of the lid inlaid with birds, plum and leaves, the underside black lacquer and applied with four later knob feet- 11 7/8 x 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 in. (30.3 x 16.5 x 12.1 cm.), cracks and old damages and some restoration
