YI DYNASTY (17TH/18TH CENTURY)

The well-potted ovoid jar raised on a short ring foot with a rolled rim decorated about the body with iron-brown painted stylized plant forms with long spiked leaves and graceful curved stalks reserved on a grey glazed ground ending above the unglazed foot, bearing on the base the numerals 2438 8.00 244.12, firing crack on base- 14 5/16 in. (36.6 cm.) diameter, 12 15/16 in. (32.9 cm.) high
