CHIKANOBU: oban tate-e (37.4 x 25 cm.); a set of forty-nine prints of okubi-e portraits of beauties entitled Jidai kagami "Mirror of today" signed Yoshu Chikanobu and variously dated Meiji 29, 30 and 31 (1896-8), and diptych title page/table of contents dated Meiji 30 and single page opening illustration of three ladies- very good impressions, good color with lacquer highlights, some pages slightly toned, otherwise good condition
