Late (and apparently the last) edition of the ever-popular Kleines Destillierbuch, edited by Walter Hermann Ryff and illustrated with a variety of woodcuts from the impressive stock of the Egenolff publishing house, the plant cuts nearly all pirated copies of the woodcuts from the classic sixteenth-century herbals of Fuchs and Brunfels, previously used in Egenolph's editions of Lonitzer, Dioscorides, Rösslin and Dorsten.

Provenance: Early ownership inscription of Abraham Hornick, later signature of Rösler -- Ignaz Dominik Graf von Chorinski, of Bohemia, bookplate -- Robert Honeyman IV, signature on front flyleaf (sale, Sotheby's London, 30-31 October 1978, lot 532) -- Robert de Belder.
