Second edition (first 1583) corrected and expanded and constituting the definitive edition of Dodoens' botanical writings. Engraved architectural titlepage with figures of Theophrastus and Dioscorides and various flowering plants, roman letter, eight-line and smaller woodcut capitals, 1309 woodcuts in the text (six of them copied from the Julia Anicia Codex of Dioscorides), Plantin's woodcut device on last page.
