Lot Essay

Paul Sormani, recorded as working at 10, rue Charlot after 1867 and continued to work at this address until his death in 1877. His atelier was continued by his widow and his son, Paul-Charles Sormani. It is likely that the table à jeux in the offered lot was executed amongst the group of furniture that was submitted by Sormani for his participation in the 1867 Exposition Universelle.
