A VICTORIAN SILVER-GILT MOUNTED TOILET SERVICE, London, 1871, maker's mark of Frederic Purnell, all in fitted brass-bound case, the front with lock, with plaque PARKINS & GOTTO 24 OXFORD STREET W, the trays leather mounted velvet covered, all with glass bodies with plain silver-gilt covers engraved with crest and motto, the top folding down to contain hand mirror, the top cover with mirror, above inset fitted compartment for a pair of containers centering rectangular box, upon lifting cover two side arms unfold, each containing a cannister, two glass boxes and a cut-glass screw on cover scent flask (top to one chipped), the center with detachable jewelry tray, above with medicine spoon (unengraved), with approximately eighteen gilt-metal implements, all in fitted tray, with two ivory backed clothes brushes, one with crest and motto--length of case 13¼in. long by 8in. deep (33.6 X 20.3cm.)
