A GEORGE III SILVER SAUCE-TUREEN WITH MATCHING COVER, the tureen, London, 1770, maker's mark of Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp, the cover by the same, lacking date letter, molded oval, on four beaded foliate scroll feet, the lower part of the body fluted, the shoulder chased with ovals between applied beaded borders, with two bifurcated leafy handles, with wavy rim; the partly fluted raised cover topped by pomegranate finial, with spoon cut-out (ill fitting)--length over handles 8½in. (21.5cm.), 23oz.
