A SILVER WATER-PITCHER, maker's mark of Gale & Hayden, 1849, pear-shaped, the two pointed vertical panels converging at the lower part of the body, the upper panels engraved with foliate scrolls, rocaille and flowerheads, one centering inscription dated 1850 the lower panels engraved with flowersprays, two sides flowering foliage centering grosteque mask, all on foliate scroll feet with scroll apron between, with rusticated grapevine handle, and applied reeded rim--10½in. (26.6cm.) high, 33oz.
