Based on a silver-gilt example in the collection of the Order of the Saint-Esprit, the ovoid body on spreading foot chased with bands of foliage and lobes, with angular tubular handle and hinged domed cover with wild mask thumbpiece, marked under base--9in. (23cm.) high
