Of circular form the two shaped flat handles cast and chased with scrolls, husks and shells, the side engraved with a cypher, engraved under one handle with the initials AC; the domed cover with ovolo rim, flat-chased inside with a bank of fluting with paterae at intervals, all enclosing matted panels and floral swags, surmounted by a cast pomegranate finial, marked on side, both handles and cover; struck with the charge and discharge of Julien Alaterre--length over handles 12 1/3in.
