A SET OF FOUR FINE LOUIS XVI SILVER CANDLESTICKS
PARIS, 1788, MAKER'S MARK OF HENRI AUGUSTE

Each on domed circular base cast and chased with a band of waterleaves enclosing a calyx of alternating waterleaves and flowerheads, rising to tapering stems chased with vertical palmettes and with beaded, anthemion and wheat ear bands supporting vase-shaped sockets chased with palmettes under lobed rims, with removable egg and dart nozzles, fully marked; struck with the charge and export discharge of Henri Clavel--12½in. (32cm.) high
